WHAT IS OROPATCH?

​Oropatch is a dissolvable antimicrobial micro-needle patch. The micro-needles are filled with antibiotics and enzymes to break down bacteria and biofilms in the tonsils. The micro-needles, made of a polymer matrix, dissolve, releasing the contents into the tonsil’s mucosa. ​ Following administration of the patch with a syringe, the micro-needles penetrate through the biofilm in the tonsils. Micro-needles dissolve, delivering the antibiotics to destroy the bacteria and the enzymes to destroy the biofilm matrix.
